How to accurately measure the hole position of a motorcycle license plate?

Before buying a motorcycle license plate, it is important to accurately measure the hole position to ensure that the new license plate can be installed smoothly. The following are detailed steps to help you complete the measurement easily.

Tools Required:

- Steel measuring tape or vernier caliper

- Marker

- Paper (for record keeping)

Measurement steps:

Method 1: Use a steel measuring tape

Step 1: Confirm the number and location of the license plate holes

The number plate mounting holes may differ slightly on different models of motorcycles. Observe the mounting bracket at the rear of the vehicle to determine the number of holes (usually two) and mark their exact locations.

Step 2: Measure the horizontal distance between the acupoints (A)

Using a steel tape measure or a vernier caliper, measure the horizontal distance between the center points of the two holes . Make sure the tape measure remains horizontal when measuring to avoid errors.

Step 3: Measure the vertical distance between the hole and the top of the license plate (B)

Next, measure the vertical distance from the center of the hole to the top of the license plate. This is important because the height of the bracket varies on different car models, so make sure the license plate is not too high or too low when installed.

Step 4: Record and confirm the data

Record the measured A and B values, and then measure again to ensure the data is accurate.

Method 2: Use paper to press and record the location of the acupuncture points

Step 1: Prepare the Paper

Choose a thicker paper or cardstock and make sure the paper is stiff enough to clearly record the hole locations.

Step 2: Cover with paper and press

Place the paper flat on the license plate installation position, and then gently press along the edge of the hole with your fingers or a hard object (such as a pen) to form a concave mark on the paper at the hole position .

Step 3: Mark and confirm

Use a hard object to mark the location of the depression to ensure the data is accurate.

Solutions that cannot be measured or drilled by yourself

If you are unable to accurately measure the hole position or are unable to drill the hole yourself, you can use double-sided tape and rubber bands to temporarily fix the license plate in the appropriate position to ensure that it is stable and does not move. Then come to our store for formal drilling and installation to ensure accuracy.

Note:

- Avoid measuring errors : Make sure the measuring tape or caliper is close to the measuring point and not tilted.

- Consider accessories : If you are using a dashcam lens, you should also consider measuring the hole position.

- Make sure the value is correct : If in doubt, ask a professional car dealer to help measure.

Once you have accurately measured A and B, you can order the appropriate motorcycle license plate to ensure a hassle-free installation!
